I have Fibroids and do not want to lose my womb, what should I do?

If you have been diagnosed or suspect you could have uterine Fibroids, it is important to inform yourself properly about your options before choosing your treatment.

After diagnosing Myomas or Fibroids, most gynecologists usually indicate Hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) as the only treatment option. However, when performing this surgery, you would lose your ability to have babies.

If you still want to have children, do not let them remove your womb! Hysterectomy should be your last option.

The good news is that today we have new treatment methods that eliminate Fibroids in a less aggressive way, without the need to lose your uterus.

The Myoma Specialized Center counts with expert doctors in the most advanced minimally invasive and non-invasive treatments, we want to help you preserve your uterus and your chances of forming a family.

TREATMENTS

Laparoscopic Hysterectomy

Surgery in which the uterus is completely removed. It is the treatment of choice for uterine tumors, whether they are submucosal, intramural or subserosal. It is only advised if you no longer wish to have children.

Myomectomy

A surgical procedure in which Fibroids are removed, releasing them from the uterus without removing it and preserving your chances of having children. This operation can be performed by Laparotomy or Laparoscopy.

Hysteroscopy

A procedure in which the inside of the uterus is examined introducing a small camera through the vagina. This allows the diagnosis of bleeding problems and the removal of polyps or certain types of Fibroids (submucosal).

Ablation

A new option in which the inner lining of the uterus (endometrium) is removed using focused ultrasound, heat, cold or electricity, in order to control abnormal bleeding. Ablation is not recommended if you still want to have children.

Uterine Artery Embolization

It consists of ligating or obstructing the arteries of the uterus using minimally invasive techniques, eliminating the blood flow to the Fibroids to make them shrink and reduce the symptoms produced by them.

Robotic Surgery

It is a minimally invasive surgical technique, with the help of the ``Da Vinci`` robot, our surgeons can perform the most complicated Hysterectomies and Myomectomies with greater accuracy, less pain and smaller scars.
